Business Development Engineer — Export Markets
Open markets outside Egypt. Find and sign the distributors, then sell alongside them — and sell direct where that is the faster route.
What you will actually do
- Identify, qualify and sign distributors and channel partners across the Middle East and Africa.
- Carry a direct number as well. Some accounts you will run yourself, start to finish.
- Train partners until they can hold their own first meeting, then join them on the deals that are worth your seat on a plane.
- Agree territory terms with us — pricing bands, stock, demo units, who owns which account — and then hold partners to them.
- Represent Inspector at regional exhibitions and technical events.
- Report on every market honestly, including the ones that are not working. We would rather close a market early than fund it on optimism.
What we are looking for
- You have sold a technical product outside your own market — through distributors, agents or direct export customers.
- You can run a commercial negotiation in English. Arabic is essential. French is a real advantage for North and West Africa.
- A valid passport and a travel history that suggests visas will not be a wall.
- You are comfortable being the only person from the company in the room, a long way from the office.
- You can tell the difference between a partner who is building a pipeline and one who is sitting on a territory.
Helps, but not required: An existing network of electrical, instrumentation or industrial-automation distributors in the Gulf or Africa.
On package
Competitive base plus a performance-based incentive scheme, discussed openly once we both know there is a fit. We do not publish a band: the right person at either end of the experience range moves the number enough that a published figure would be misleading. Tell us what you expect in the form and we will tell you early whether we are in the same range, rather than wasting four interviews finding out.
Process
Four steps. No disappearing.
The form below. 10–15 minutes, detailed on purpose — it replaces the first interview.
Twenty minutes, mostly about numbers you have actually delivered.
You walk us through a real deal you ran, and we hand you a live scenario from our own pipeline.
References, then terms in writing.
Apply
Tell us what you have actually sold.
We read every answer. Vague answers are the fastest way out of this process — and specific ones, even about a bad year, are the fastest way through it.
This page describes the role as currently envisaged. It is not an offer of employment, a contract, or a guarantee of any particular terms, package or title — those are agreed in writing at offer stage, and the role may change before then. PowerWadi hires on merit and welcomes applications regardless of gender, age, religion or background. What you submit here is used only to assess your application and is kept with our hiring records.
